C's take on the Motor City

We have no JT or Jrue tonight. Short handed Cs yet again.  🏀       C's are short handed, but I expect them to win tonight. Lock in on D, and move the ball unselfishly. Expect a big game from PP. We have the double big lineup in Al and KP out there. KP swats Harris right from the go! Get it outta here! C's will need to be stout on D tonight. JB to KP opens us up, cookies and cream in da house!       Good to see JB taking the rock into the paint. I love the way he attacks the rim. When he has a full head of steam no one can stop him. Loving the ball movement tonight. KP to Al for the beautiful three pointer. I love seeing Joe yet again wearing his cross. The man is steadfast in his faith. C's are off to a pretty good start. Timeout Pistons.       Anyone else not upset we didn't make the gimmick cup tournament. I know I'm not and am so happy! DWhite with a corner three off of excellent ball movement. C's are building this lead ...

Survival and the medical decisions we make

Survival is not just about staying alive and healthy following physical attacks, illness and injuries. It also involves making the right decisions at the right time . I have had three medical conditions that could have been life-threatening , and NONE of those maladies had any symptoms. "Your first symptom may have been to drop dead" --- My thoracic surgeon Several years ago, my doctor picked up a very faint heart murmur and sent me to a cardiologist. The cardio specialist did some tests and determined I had aortic stenosis . My heart's aortic valve was clogged and would continue to get worse. That was the bad news. The good news was that by the time I needed a valve replacement, the operation could be done without cutting my chest open. The new valve would simply be implanted via an artery in the groin area. The procedure, known as TAVR , was done two-and-a-half years ago, up to which time I had ZERO symptoms. Prior to the operation, my thoracic surgeon told me what...

Pritchard's last 4 games. 6MOY? MIP? All-Star?

Do you remember Payton Pritchard in the 2022-23 season? You are forgiven if you don't. The undersized combo guard only saw action in 48 games and averaged a mere 13.4 minutes/game. That has all changed this season . In the last four games, the 28th pick (first round) in the 2020 draft is averaging: 30.5 MPG - 24.5 PPG - 5.3 RPG - 3.0 APG - 1.3 SPG - +11.5 plus/minus And how about his shooting accuracy in those four games! He nailed 55% from the field , 4 9% on threes and 90% from the foul line. Pritchard is currently leading all bench players in most ratings for 2025 Sixth-Man-of-the-Yea r - and frankly - he is already in the conversation for NBA-Most-Improved. And Payton-as-All-Star talk might begin if he keeps up these performances.  I have previously compared Payton to 6'1" former-Laker guard, Gail Goodrich , who garnered five All-Star appearances when he was finally given ample floor time. Also, on two occasions, I wrote about Pritchard's lack of minutes an...

C's are back home

First Quarter        C's are extremely short handed tonight. No Al, KP, Jrue or Sam... C's must jump out to an early lead. I despise the Heat and hope we destroy them. C's are off to a slow start... C's are not where I want them to be. Allowing this heat team to grab an early lead. I'm not a big fan of Walsh. He's extremely limited as a basketball player. A guy like Lonnie Walker would have been a better option.       There isn't a player on the Heat I like. From top to bottom I can't stand any of them. C's defense has picked up and slowly the offense is taking shape. A very choppy game overall tonight. Great entry pass from JT to JB in the post. Honestly there's no one to fear on the Heat. Get in the post, set up camp and dominate. Both Robinson and Herro suck in my opinion. DWhite goes off glass and scores!       Joe calls a timeout after some shoddy defense and offense. Allowing this dumpster fire Heat team back into the gam...

We venture into enemy territory

C's are in Cleveland for a Sunday showdown with the Cavs. It's a matchup of the top teams in the East. We have no JB or DW, both are out with an illness.   ☘️       As we enter tonight's game, I'm reminded with the fact I don't like the Cavs at all. For so many reasons which go back to the end of Larry Birds playing career. All those playoff series vs Leflop, plus this current team just does nothing for me. Well it's tipoff time and we need a signature game from JT. Al and Sam enter the starting lineup, which will be key to our success.             JT gets to the cup, gets hacked and no call. A preview of things to come? I truly hope these refs are fair tonight. C's can't hit the front side of a barn right now. An absolute garbage start for the C's. Who have no energy whatsoever tonight. JT tried to get KP involved, which is a great idea. KP gets behind the arc and scores from deep. Finally we are on the damn board! JT goes dee...

Payton Pritchard: 6'1" of grit, strength, timing and body control

Celtics fans saw it all from Payton Pritchard in the Celtics win over Chicago. First of all, he pulled down seven rebounds , and four of those were off the offensive glass. He uses his lack of height to be all-but-invisible when an errant shot comes off the glass or rim. He has great timing and the physical strength to hang onto the ball. His 29 points were the second-team highest behind only Jayson Tatum. Payton shot 10-of-16 from the field - 7-of-11 on threes - and 2-of-2 from the free throw line.  His terrific body control are most on display when Pritchard takes the ball all the way to the hoop . Not being particularly quick, he needs that body control to finish on his drives - and it works. Above is the game shot chart for Pritchard. No mid-range for him, apparently. It was go for the long ball or take it in.  Payton is already in the conversation for 6th-Man-Of-The-Year , and just keeps getting better as the season progresses. The last Celtic to cop the John...

My Kind of town Chicago

C's are in Chi town to take on Da Bulls.   🏀       C's are at full strength tonight. No one on the injury report. C's may be on the outside looking in for the NBA cup... Personally who cares! I just want the win because at the end of the day, winning rules. C's must establish themselves early on here. Let's play tough D and push the pace.       KP opens us up with a deep three! A bomb from beyond the arc. This basketball floor is a red mess. These cup floors are just awful. C's haven't found their rhythm yet, maybe some lag coming off turkey day. Yet they have an early five point lead. What a joke the Bulls have become since MJ left. When you let the Goat walk out of the door, bad things happen. Just look at the Patriots.       KP and DWhite running some sweet sets right here. C's have increased their lead to nine. KP with the show and go jams it home! The unicorn has unlocked this offense. It's so good having him back! W...
