The Celtics are 5-1 and the ex-Celtics are doing WHAT???

Last night said it all.  The Celts moved to 5-1 with a win on the road against a Cleveland team that has two monster rebounders on it in K Love and T Thompson.  In years past we would have been manhandled by such a big physical interior.  Not this season.  The Celts outrebounded the Cavs by a 45-44 margin.....proof positive that the Celtics can bang with the big boys. This Green Team is T-O-U-G-H - TOUGH, TOUGH, TOUGH. We rebound at every position.  Heck, Kemba grabbed 8 himself last night.  The dude truly is a beast on the boards from the PG spot. This is a totally underrated aspect of his game. So now that we have pounded the Bucks and beat Toronto on the way to building a 5-1 record, let's recognize the new guys who have joined the team this season.  Kemba Walker - I said it earlier.  Oh My God is this guy a tough SOB.  He defends at an incredibly high rate.  He takes charges.  And he rebounds.  The guy truly is everythi...

Pay Him. Pay That Man His Money. Celtics vs Knicks Preview!

This post was originally supposed to be about Jaylen Brown. It is no secret that just a week ago I was begging Danny Ainge not to extend Jaylen Brown. Not yet. Let the season play through and see how he does and then we can go from there, I pleaded. I have just seen too many guys in sports get big contracts and then get "fat and happy". Jaylen Brown looks neither fat nor happy. This guy is playing mean. A good mean. And so I'm all in with Danny.   via GIPHY I have loved Jaylen for three years.  Last year he was not good, but as I got to thinking.......he was the first guy I heard come out and openly throw Kyrie under the bus.  Jaylen let it be known that Kyrie was a turd. We all owe him a bunch of thanks for that. SO Jaylen, spend the $100+ million well. Keep playing like you did last night and we got a steal of a deal. Now onto the real stuff.  Get out your wallet.  Tonight's game is the first one that I will encourage ALL OF YOU to bet on...

Weekends in a Celtics dominated NBA - some random thoughts

What a season this is going to be for the Celtics.  So much goodness to come, I can hardly wait.  It's not just the great things to come from the Celts that has me excited about the NBA though.  Let's take a look at some of the big stories in the NBA. Lebron James doesn't want to talk about China and Hong Kong anymore.  That is his right.  But wow the media jumped all over him for what he initially had to say.  I hope we play the Lakers in the finals so that our reporters can ask him a billion questions about China. LeBron James says he and his Lakers teammates didn’t have enough information to comment on situation in China. — Marc J. Spears (@MarcJSpearsESPN) October 15, 2019 In the betting community the Houston Rockets have an over/under of 53.5 wins for this season?  WHAT?!?!  Who is taking the over?  My guess is it could be the same people who allowed Carsen Edwards @Cboogie_3 to fall to the second round of the draft.  You...

Ten quick thoughts on Celtics road win over 76'ers

The Celtics road win over the Phildelphia 76'ers was much-needed . The game was close all the way, and here are some interesting tidbits from the matchup against one of Boston's major rivals. 1.) Boston seems to have Philly's number no matter who the 76'ers put on the floor The Celtics have been victorious in all three games versus the 76'ers this season - with an average margin of roughly nine points. This game was in Philadelphia, and the Sixers have added Tobias Harris to their roster. Didn't matter. Another win for the Celtics. 2.) Kyrie Irving's teammates are forced to ramp up their games without him The Celtics are now 28-19 (.596) when Kyrie Irving plays - and 8-2 (.800) when he doesn't. Last night, Al Horford, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Morris and Gordon Hayward all came through with big games to cinch the win. The Celtics played tough and physical against Philly, and it worked. The players seem to step up when they can't rely on Kyrie's...
