Daniel Theis back to Boston? Could be possible.

I only post a few items about possible trades involving the Boston Celtics, but Daniel Theis-back-to--Boston could happen. He didn't see the floor in Boston's win over the Pacers, and he could end up being traded - or possibly a buyout candidate . This is the German C/Fs last guaranteed season with Indiana since next season is a team team option. It is doubtful if the Celtics could work a trade due to the $9.1 million owed to Theis for 2023-24.   The return of Daniel to Beantown is an intriguing idea, and the team could certainly use his services at the right price. The chances of that happening are not great, but stay tuned.

Why no Celtics deadline trade, and probably no buyout acquisition

As expected, Celtics boss, Danny Ainge, bypassed the February 6 trade deadline without making a move, and there is a good chance that fans won't see Danny acquire a player from the buyout market. The reasons for "Trader Danny's" bargaining lethargy include his contentment with the present roster, the odds for a bright future and the financial decisions over the next several seasons. Here's a quick look at the ghosts of the Celtics past, present and future. Ghost of Last Season The Ghost of Last Season was a sinister one indeed. Ainge has no desire to repeat it. The 2018-19 season was one of stagnation and turmoil. Thus, Danny's wish not to rock the Celtics boat that is floating high on calm waters. The Serene Ghost of The Present Trading prior to the deadline would have meant the departure of at least one member of the present Celtics roster. Since Vincent Poirier's contract is fully-guaranteed for next season, Javonte Green may have been a casualty. B...

Danny Ainge decision time for trade deadline, buyout market and Jabari Bird

The trade deadline is February 7th , and things will get crazy in the next nine days with the Anthony Davis saga ongoing. But what can't be ignored for playoff-bound teams is the March 1st date . Any players waived prior to that date can be signed by any team and participate in the 2019 post-season . Teams heading to the lottery often buy out veteran players to give the younger guys more floor time - and frankly, to tank - hoping for a higher draft pick. Jabari Bird is still on the Celtics roster as he awaits trial on kidnapping and assault charges. Although I wish him well in life and in his basketball career, I would hate to ever see him in a Celtics uniform again. If Boston's roster remains the same after the February 7th trade deadline, Danny may need that roster spot if the right buyout candidate becomes available. Who might those be? For the Celtics purposes, the player needs to be on an expiring contract . Zach Randolph of the Sacramento Kings would be a dece...
