The Celtics are the best team in the East - Tell me I'm wrong

The Celtics are the best team in the Eastern Conference.  Tell me I'm wrong.  And you would be wrong.  It is so obvious that the Celts are the best team.  I'm struggling to understand how people don't already know this.  The 76ers, Bucks and Celtics are the top 3 teams in the East.  One of these teams has gotten better since last year (Celtics).  The other two have gotten worse. Let's start with the 76ers.  They lost JJ Reddick and Jimmy Butler.  If you watched the playoffs last year, you know that Jimmy Butler was at the very least the second most valuable player on their team.  Embiid is a beast, nobody is gonna argue that.  And Ben Simmons is a freight train that is tough to stop when he gets a full head of steam.  But Embiid is clumsy at times and commits turnovers.  And Simmons can't shoot!  Butler is an all around player who is one of the best in the game.  Look at the start Miami is off to this year....

The Celtics play the Cavs tonight - But let's look ahead to the playoffs

The Celts have started out 4-1 and the national media doesn't seem to have caught on to how good we are yet.  I guess people don't pay a lot of attention to what happens early in the season on the NBA because some of the players are still getting in game shape and teams are all working on chemistry.  The Celts came into the season in game shape and they have the chemistry.  So what is left for us to work on?  Rebounding. A game like tonight's is exactly the challenge we need to see where we measure up.  Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson are two of the best rebounders in the game.  Love is averaging 15+ a game and Thompson grabs 11+ a game.  That is more than any individual Celtic gets (Jayson Tatum leads with 8 per game).  As a team, however, the Celts and Cavs both average 46.5 boards a game.  Here is my point:  The ONLY way that the Cavs beat the Celts tonight is if they outrebound us.  We know that going in.  We know who we ...

What is the Celtics best chance to beat the Bucks?

Celtics fans are locked and loaded.  We had a nice win at home against Toronto and then we smashed a hapless NY Knicks team for our second win of the year. The NBA Championship is not decided in game 4 of the regular season but my guess is that Celtic fans will be ripping the roof off the Garden tonight.  This game will tell us where we stand.  And we all know it. Let's look at what we need to do to beat the Bucks: 1. Stop Giannis.  How are we gonna do that?  The man is a beast.  But what Milwaukee doesnt know yet is that we have a surprise in store for the reigning MVP. My sources tell me that Grant Williams will be heavily involved in the defensive gameplan against Milwaukee. He will see a lot of time guarding Giannis. #celtics #GreenTeam — Jimmy in NH (@JimmyMac257) October 29, 2019 That's right.  Our new rookie strongman Grant Williams is going to get his chance to show people how it is done.  Stay in front of the Greak Freak.  M...

Who wakes up early on a Saturday to read a Celtics blog?

Who wakes up early to read a Celtics blog on a Saturday morning?  I'm not sure actually.  All I know is that I'm waking up early to write one. Last night's game against Toronto showed me a ton....about my blog writing abilities.  Seriously.  Yesterday's game preview blog talked about how Pascal Siakam is a monster and how Jaylen Brown needed to play strong in order for us to win.  You all saw what happened right? This is what we need all year from our man @FCHWPO pic.twitter.com/MWZSAtgHdN — Jimmy in NH (@JimmyMac257) October 26, 2019  Yesterday's blog also mentioned that Grant Williams would get some considerable run because he has the strength and the defensive footwork to guard Toronto's bigs.  Did I call it or what? AT this point I just need to ask the question: Who is the best Celtics blog writer you read?  Who is putting out better content than me?  Two weeks ago I wrote a piece on Carsen Edwards being the best shooter on the...

The Celtics and the 76ers – What you need to know!

There are many Celtics blog writers out there competing for your “clicks”.   I am just one of them.   So as we kick off the season tonight with a Celtics vs 76ers matchup that could very well be a preview of the Eastern Conference Finals, I want you to get my best shot of Green Team information so that you are ready to fully enjoy the game when you turn it on.   Here’s what you need to know - short and sweet:  The 76ers are a loser organization.   There are tons of examples but one of the best is this: 1 year ago today, the 76ers dropped confetti after forcing OT against the Celtics and then lost the game. pic.twitter.com/YiHHUeTjoK — BostonCelticsForever (@BostonCelts4eva) May 5, 2019 That was awesomely embarrassing for 76er fans.  But want to know what I think is even worse? it was so nice we're showing you twice. pic.twitter.com/zTsOwEmFkX — Philadelphia 76ers (@sixers) October 9, 2019 Look at how they celebrate a made 3 pointer. By a man who they ...

Please Danny - Do not sign JAYLEN BROWN to an extention!!!

I'm begging you Danny.  Don't do it.  Not yet.  Please just let the season play out and then we can go from there. Jaylen Brown & the Celtics will come to an agreement on an extension by Mondays deadline.... it will be north of 100 million dollars. #GRDUndefeated — GreenRunsDeep (@CelticsGRD) October 20, 2019 I am already hearing all kinds of talk about the "talent" we have on the Celtics this year and people asking how there will be enough minutes for everyone to play.  Carsen Edwards needs to be on the court.  Marcus Smart is the 6th man.  Enes Kanter has to play.  Robert and Grant Williams can contribute so they gotta get some run somehow.  "We have so much talent."  Oh my God.  Please help me.  People said the exact same crap last year.  I look back at last year's squad and I say "where was all the talent?"  Seriously people - We weren't that good.  We didn't underachieve.  We just were not that good...

Weekends in a Celtics dominated NBA - some random thoughts

What a season this is going to be for the Celtics.  So much goodness to come, I can hardly wait.  It's not just the great things to come from the Celts that has me excited about the NBA though.  Let's take a look at some of the big stories in the NBA. Lebron James doesn't want to talk about China and Hong Kong anymore.  That is his right.  But wow the media jumped all over him for what he initially had to say.  I hope we play the Lakers in the finals so that our reporters can ask him a billion questions about China. LeBron James says he and his Lakers teammates didn’t have enough information to comment on situation in China. — Marc J. Spears (@MarcJSpearsESPN) October 15, 2019 In the betting community the Houston Rockets have an over/under of 53.5 wins for this season?  WHAT?!?!  Who is taking the over?  My guess is it could be the same people who allowed Carsen Edwards @Cboogie_3 to fall to the second round of the draft.  You...

What do Celtics fans want this season?

Guest article by Jim McIntyre What Do Celtics Fans Want? Serious question.   What do you want from the Celtics this year?   After 2 blowout preseason wins in a row, enthusiasm is starting to build for this team.   Celtics fans are a loyal bunch and it doesn’t take much for us to get to a next level state of optimism.   I’m already there.   But what exactly am I looking for? The #1 thing I am looking for, I already have.   No Kyrie Irving.   Thank God.   Thank God Almighty.   The stench of that guy was so foul.   Rumor has it that they had to replace the seats at the Garden because the cleaning crew was unable to remove his reek from them.   But now he is gone.   I got what I want and I am happy.   For now…. The chemistry of this team looks great, doesn’t it?   The Tacko Fall factor is cool.   It sure seems like this is a great young man who is thrilled to be on the Green Team.   His teammates love him a...
