With more minutes and all-out hustle- Aaron Nesmith takes Sentinel Citation Award

The Celtics come away with their best win of the year, a 95-78 defeat of the favored Miami Heat. . Playing great D most of the night led to what winning looks like. Defense first,, A hard nosed D can always shut down a good offense.         In 18 minutes Aaron Nesmith who finally got the minutes he deserves scored 13 points, had 3 rebounds and 1 assist . What doesn't show up in the stat line is crashing the boards, active hands on D, blocking a shot out of bounds, and just all out heart and hustle . Last season when this young man had time on the floor, he was successful. We here at the Sentinel love how hard he plays . That's why after last night's game, he is the Sentinel Citation Award winner!      Clearly he took advantage and seized the moment last night. Going forward, he deserves plenty of minutes. He allows for spacing on the floor because he can nail threes! This kid just oozes Celtic Green, leaving it all on the...

Celtics fans, it's been awhile - drum roll, please

It's been a while since we saw a win and handed out our esteemed award. Losing is inevitable, but not what Celtics fans want to see. Going forward we will be handing out our Award when the outcome is a W! Unless we have that exceptional game by a player in a loss . Given our picture can you figure it out?      Al Horford has been rejuvenated being back in Boston. He had 14 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, followed by 1 steal and 3 blocks. He did all that in 26 minutes! My goodness he's balling! Guess what his career high in blocks per year is? We will tell you - it's 1.5 , now he is leading the league with 3.2 per game! Green and White look good on Al, the Sentinel Citation Award winner ! If his work ethic could rub off on his teammates, that would be great.       Al has brought it all since he's been back! We know the late great Tommy Heinsohn is keeping track and giving Tommy points in basketball heaven! We feel Tommy wou...

Payton Pritchard receives the inaugural Sentinel Citation Award

Here at Celtics Sentinel we love our Boston Celtics franchise. What it takes to be a Celtic is giving your heart, soul, and all around everything to this team. The Celtics are a way of life according to the late great Red Auerbach . We feel that way here at Celtics Sentinel! Writing about the Celtics is a way of life! With Celtics Pride!      In a collaborative effort, we have decided to present the Sentinel Citation Award for each game, given to the Celtics player who just gave it his all - left his entire being on that court on that given night. To have this award attached to your name means you Bleed Green out there! Playing for Celtics as if it were a way of life, as Red so proudly stated.
