Win Streak Over as the Rockets Take Off

Today I will be touching upon the past three games. It's been a busy few days for me as my daughter's youth soccer team won the fall championship. In Friday's Cup game we saw the Cs lay a huge hammer to the Bulls in that first half. For a while there I thought we would win the game by 50! Unfortunately that third quarter was lacking and the Cs let go of that huge lead. At the end of the day though they pulled out the win. PP was spectacular scoring 30 points while JT and PG13 played very well. I don't care for the Cup games but sometimes you need small goals in a long season.

Sunday in Orlando was another example of a team win. When big plays were needed JT and PG13 led the way. Tatum to me this season seems so comfortable and confident in his game. I would say he must feel just about fully healed from that horrendous injury in the playoffs. PG13 even looks spry and reinvigorated to be a Boston Celtic. Queta continues to show he may be their best center. He plays extremely well off of JT especially. The Cs team basketball this season has been their strongest asset plus depth. Yes JT shoulders the load most nights in the points department but that's what stars do.

Last night the win streak ended at the hands of the Houston Rockets. That is a very well coached team and they go hard on defense. Ime Udoka has imprinted his style of play on that team. The Cs were short handed on the second night of a back to back. They had their chances but just could not capitalize making the comeback happen. There will be nights where they just don't have it. On those nights they still need to execute and play hard. You are never truly out of a game and effort goes a long way. Plus you need to make your shots which the Cs didn't.

Next up for our Celtics will be the Bucks who we danced with in the off season for Giannis. Why we didn't make it happen falls upon the lap of El cheapo Billionaire Bill. When you have the chance to parlay one Hall of fame player with another you do it. You don't let finances dictate closing the deal. I'm sure the Buck will give their best shot but this is a let's get back in the win column game. Speaking of Giannis who I love things are not going well in Miami... That team is a mess and their record shows it. I feel bad for him but not for Pat the Rat Riley.

Speaking of trades the Sixers look like a team that can win in multiple ways. They have multiple players who can take over and or spread the wealth around. I wish JB nothing but success yet it seems he is behind Maxey as thar teams alpha. Something of which he wanted here or maybe it was about that extension which the Cs weren't going to give him. Overall I see a very flawed NBA. So many injuries and so many teams basically coasting until playoff time. As always Celtic Pride!

As a side note we love any feedback or comments our readers have to offer.

Wemby versus Kareem as rookies

We already know that the Spurs Victor Wembanyama is going to be an NBA phenomenon, but will he surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar by the end of his career. It is highly likely.  I did a "per-36-minutes" comparison between the two stars, mainly because Kareem logged 43.1 MPG in his rookie campaign - while Wemby has been held to only 29.4 MPG. Kareem: 24.1 PPG - 12.1 RPG - 3.4 APG - .518 FG - .653 FT Wemby:  25.9 PPG - 12.9 RPG - 4.5 APG - .463 FG - .796 FT No blocks, steals or 3-pointers were looked at since they were not tracked in Jabbar's first year in the NBA. It should also be noted that Kareem was 22 years old at the time, while Victor started at age 20. Two factors favoring Wembanyama ultimately surpassing Jabbar on any "Best-of-All-Time" charts are his point guard skills , shared by so many European players.  and the fact he is being mentored by Gregg Popovich. His potential seems astounding. But the question remains. Can he garner six Titles and six MVP ...

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
