Da Bulls

Celtics welcome the Bulls to the Garden tonight. Nice to see Hugo score and play a solid game for the first time all season. Hugo's a guy that shows great upside but still needs work. He's a dawg on defense, offensively I'm not fully sure what he's gonna be. I don't want to see him settle for threes. He should be a guy who gets to the hole and could develop a mid range game. I believe Brad sees something in him and I hope this season he takes that next step. I'm starting to get concerned with Payton Pritchards shot. He needs to be a knock down shooter especially beyond the arc. Yet this season he's off to a slow start.

I have enjoyed some of these defensive possessions tonight. There have been some sets where the Cs are legit hounds and giving the Bulls a run for their money. I love when guys and teams really focus their efforts on the defensive end. Defensive is about effort and heart along with positioning. Derrick White is one of if not my favorite defensive player to watch. Old friend Jrue Holiday is another, I could watch him hound guys all night. That championship team really were connected on the defensive end.

Jayson Tatum with a damn good first half with 19 points 6 rebounds and 5 assists. After one rough game vs Detroit the real JT had shown up these past two games. This season will be even more insight into how great he is. Hopefully the Cs invest in players who compliment his game. His all around game is one that can average a triple double each game. He has all the tools necessary to lead this team to the playoffs. As Celtics fans we are lucky to watch him regularly.

These Bulls uniforms are solid but they truly look like fire on Michael Jordan. I have this Jordan jersey! Derrick White is all heart especially him diving on the floor giving up his body. The Celtics transition game gas been solid tonight. It's led to plenty of opportunities and points. Watching Mitchell Robinson has been enlightening this year. The way he positions his body and gets boards is an art. He has such soft hands and is able to dominate on the glass. He's been a huge asset even though it's been 3 games.

PP has found his stroke here tonight. Going to need him to keep it up now that he's knocking shots down. PG13 has been attacking the hoop efficiently. I love seeing him taking it to the cup. Heck of a game overall as guys are finding themselves on this team. Roles are being defined and guys are stepping up. Celtic Pride!

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...

Wemby versus Kareem as rookies

We already know that the Spurs Victor Wembanyama is going to be an NBA phenomenon, but will he surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar by the end of his career. It is highly likely.  I did a "per-36-minutes" comparison between the two stars, mainly because Kareem logged 43.1 MPG in his rookie campaign - while Wemby has been held to only 29.4 MPG. Kareem: 24.1 PPG - 12.1 RPG - 3.4 APG - .518 FG - .653 FT Wemby:  25.9 PPG - 12.9 RPG - 4.5 APG - .463 FG - .796 FT No blocks, steals or 3-pointers were looked at since they were not tracked in Jabbar's first year in the NBA. It should also be noted that Kareem was 22 years old at the time, while Victor started at age 20. Two factors favoring Wembanyama ultimately surpassing Jabbar on any "Best-of-All-Time" charts are his point guard skills , shared by so many European players.  and the fact he is being mentored by Gregg Popovich. His potential seems astounding. But the question remains. Can he garner six Titles and six MVP ...
