The Heat Is On...

It was so nice getting to see and listen to IT during the pregame. You forget how great he was in a Celtics uniform. It's too bad he dealt with some crappy injuries. It's what has shortened his career, but he will always be held in high regard here in Boston. Time for the Celtics to get it going after losing their past two games. Expect JB to have a quality game and light em up. Miami is coming off a game last night. So if the Cs jump on em early they may fold. It would be wise for the Cs to get this game over sooner than later. Especially given we will be in Toronto tomorrow night.

Cs are wearing the gold and white jerseys not my favorite honestly. Cs are running off the rebound and I'm all for it. Cs trail early on but I don't expect it to last. Queta with the spin and score that was pure beauty. Looking like a dancer out there with that foot work. Queta telling the Heat players return to sender! He's a stud at blocking shots. His improvement this season shows how hard work pays off. He will only get better as his career progresses. I'm glad he's ours.

This first quarter isn't going as planned, the Heat will not go quietly. If the Cs want this they will need to get dirty on D. What a sequence right there! Minott with the great hustle to find DWhite and it ends with a Hugo Slam! Now that's Celtics basketball! I need more sequences like that in my basketball life! Hopefully that wakes the Cs up and they can now blow the doors off this Heat team. I love watching Derrick White play basketball. He's just so balanced and does everything on the floor. Cs lead after one and it's slim one point.

Here in the second the Cs are in a dogfight with the Heat. I was hoping for a run away victory but it feels more like this game will go down to the wire. JB has started off slowly and he needs to get it in gear. Cs are trailing and they better lock in on D. Very frustrating second quarter as a fan to watch. Cs have made plays here and there but can't sustain a lengthy run. I would love for them to put together a nice stretch here and grab a lead before half. Cs with a nice job here and we are all tied up! It's halftime and we are all knotted up at 58.

We are off and running here in the third as the game is going back and forth. Queta has tied the game at 64. The Cs are climbing an uphill battle as they trail here in the third. Derrick White has been shooting really well tonight. Cs are playing with fire and the score shows it. Cs just can't get into a rhythm. Yet we are just a few plays away from grabbing this lead. Simons for three! We have the lead folks! Let's Go! Cs have amped up the D and it shows. As I always say defense wins championships. Cs with the lead as we enter the fourth.

Cs are really playing extremely well here in the fourth. This is honestly what I expected from the start of the game. Derrick White has played one heck of a game tonight. This is the Derrick White I thought we would get more of this season. If he gets unlocked the NBA will be on notice. It was great seeing Sam Hauser knocking down a few threes tonight. Cs with a solid win and let's hope they can make it back to back tomorrow night. Celtic Pride!

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
