1 vs 3 in the East

JB scores the first bucket of the game and we are ready to go at the Pistons. Cs will have their work cut out for them tonight. This Pistons team is legit. PP gets on the board and should be at the line. NBA refs are the worst and close behind them are NFL refs. PP with back to back threes! Maybe he's gonna go off tonight, and I'm all for it. It's going to need to be a team effort if the Cs want to spring the upset. Who will be the X Factor tonight? Derrick White anyone?!

Cs are down five and Joe calls a timeout, let's hope it helps. PP with a sweet shot off the timeout. Prayers for Ed Lacerte who has leukemia. JB attacking Cade and looking for the And One. JB scores again! JB with an incredible fall away jumper! That shot was as cool as the other side of the pillow. Man is JB having himself quite the game and season! After trailing, the Cs have grabbed a six point lead. Queta has done an excellent job on the glass tonight. Hugo for three! Cs by nine, timeout Pistons.

Derrick White does it all, blocking shots on one end and nailing threes on the other. One of my all time favorite Celtics! JB just cooked Duncan Robinson on that possession. Detroit may want to put an actual defender on JB. Cs have relinquished their ten point lead and Joe calls a timeout. Very disappointing that this lead went away. Let's hope Joe can get them to go on a run last time he called a timeout. Shots haven't been falling but I expect they will. We have seven minutes to go here in the first half.

Tonight feels like it might be a last possession type of game. Queta has been giving us a heck of a quarter. He's playing some very high IQ basketball. I absolutely love his progress this season and be keeps getting better. He's definitely going to be a large piece when we win our next title. Which could be next season when we retool. This Queta and Duren matchup has been pretty epic. Love watching bigs go at each other. JB once again takes Duncan Robinson to the woodshed. Derrick White goes off glass and scores! JB cooks Robinson again! Booyaa!

Only a few minutes into the third and we are off to a slow start. DWhite for three! JB makes Robinson look like he doesn't belong on an NBA court. Queta! What a pass from Baylor and Queta slams it home! That was sweeeeeeeeet! Queta has game folks, and he's all ours. I'm sure the entire country of Portugal is cheering him on. Cade Cunningham is on another level, that's why Detroit is where they are atop the East. Cs have a slim six point lead.

JB and Beef Stew get into it and I'm all for it. Bring some toughness back to basketball. JB is going to need to take over for the rest of this game. Derrick White makes a huge basket right there. He's got ice water in his veins, he just makes winning plays. JB has missed way too many free throws tonight. Cs trail by four and really need to make some plays in the fourth.

Cs just didn't have enough here in the fourth to complete this comeback. Too many stretches of anemic offense. Cs just didn't have enough tonight. Total bummer especially because they could have won tonight. Celtic Pride!

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
