Grizzly Bears In Beantown

Cs look to get back on track with a win tonight. Did you know the Celtics only give up about 109 points per game defensively. But.... they only score about 111 points per game. These are their averages and probably a tell tale sign of why we have the record we do. Clearly we play decent defense but just can't win in the clutch. This is what happens when you allow 4 incredible players to walk out that door. Once again thank you Billionaire Bill.

Losing 4 key players and JT being unavailable is mucking up rotations. JB’s playing like a superstar! But, JB’s not the finisher that JT is hence why we are where we are. They are out of sequence. White’s used to handling the ball as a facilitator and then the shot. Pritch is accustomed to coming off the bench. Joe’s been trying to get the starters set. It might be time to focus the second unit. The Cs could definitely benefit from getting a solid post player. One that can be a legitimate threat to score and intimidate drivers. Rumor has it that Gafford is going to be available, would Celtics fans want him?

Cs have no excuse if they lose tonight's game. Walsh is getting the start and I don't like it! Jackson goes at him and exposes his lack of size. JB scores on the first possession of the game. JB looks locked in right now. Cs with a few too many turnovers already. They better clean it up if they want to win. Queta with the Tommy point and DWhite pays it off with a three! Cs are doing a good job so far on the boards. DWhite has already had an incredible block tonight. Cs have been locked in tonight and it shows. Cs shots are falling like rain on a summer day.

Overall I am pleased with the way in which the Cs are playing. Yet they are missing opportunities to grow this lead. The Grizz are climbing their way back into this game. Cs must hit back and there's Garza with a corner three! Cs are Sputtering here in the second and Joe calls a timeout. Someone needs to bring some stability to this chaotic quarter. Time for JB to get back in there and lead by example. He's been the horse all year, shouldering a lot of the load.

The rebounding numbers have started to even out. Which explains why the game is becoming tighter. Memphis is on a 8-0 run and thankfully Queta ends it on that alley oop. PP hits the three and we have built the lead back up to eight. Nice to see this group respond and fight back. Hopefully they will string multiple scores together and have a sizable lead going into halftime. Cs have become a pretty good team at scoring within the three point arc. If they really limited all the threes they may have a better record.

Great job by the Cs, PP and JB with back to back baskets. Timeout by the Grizz as the Cs are making us proud. Cs are 17-2 in their last 19 games against the Grizz. That's a pretty impressive stat when you think about it. We should be really thankful for all the success the Cs have had over the years. JB has absolutely perfected that midrange jumper. It's a killer shot from our top dawg this season. It's truly a beautiful thing to see. Gotta love when you see a pro work his magic. It's like watching a masterful artist do a painting. DWhite crashing the glass and scoring is basketball at its best.

Cs are not letting up here in the third, pushing the pace and crashing the glass. If I'm the Celtics I'd monitor Jaren Jacksons status in Memphis. Especially if they end up trading Ja away. Cs have pushed the lead all the way to thirty! It's nice to watch a game where we are kicking the other teams butt. I think it's time to empty the bench and let everyone get some run. Cs are killing it on second chance points with 22 so far. That's a stat you always want to be on top with.

Cs will take on the Clippers Sunday, followed by a home and home with the Nets. Maybe just maybe we can turn tonight's win into a win streak? Now that would be nice! Cs end up crushing the Grizz! Celtic Pride!

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
