Motor City Basketball

I missed Friday nights game traveling to a wedding down at the Cape and unfortunately the good guys lost. Today we take on the Detroit Pistons. Today's game should be a good one but it's gonna be a dog fight. I still love this team but we are swimming up water right now. We need to remember how to win and finish games. This Pistons team is young and on the rise.

We stand here in the third as the Celtics trail by six. The net has finally been done and we are ready for action. Cs came out at the start looking good but lost that lead by half. Do I think the Cs can come back... I do but... if they lose it wouldn't be a surprise. JB finds himself at the line and only hits one of two free throws. Anyone else watching these games and wondering if guys are connected to the arrests of Chauncey, Terry, and Damon. JB with the three from deep but defensively we are lacking. The defense needs to step up or we will be losing a ton of games this season.

Cs have made no progress at all here in the third. JB has played well but the rest of the team hasn't followed his lead. Today feels like it's going to end up in a loss. I'm not very impressed today with this team. We are just very disjointed out there. I can't believe how poorly DWhite is shooting. Minot is showing some life, hitting a big three, stealing the ball and scoring on the layup. Love the kids fire and tenacity. Cs are making a small run trying to get back into this one. Cs can't rebound to save their lives today. Ultimately it's going to cause them to lose yet again. Goodnight Celtics Fans. Stay True!

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
