Late Night In New Orleans

We tip off tonight in New Orleans. It's an early lead for our Celtics but will it last? JB looks good right now, as he elevates and hits the jumper. Cs are currently leading in the rebound department. Which has been their Achilles heal all season. Cs are in the bonus early on tonight, which is a sign that we are being aggressive tonight. Pelicans have made a run and the lead is down to seven. Holding leads has been an issue all season. Pelicans are picking it up on both ends as the Cs begin to crumble. Cs must weather this storm if they want a shot at their first victory. My keys to victory will be the rebounding and defense tonight. Simons nails a three and he needs to do more of this.

We enter the second up by eight, can we build on it? DWhite hasn't been himself lately from deep. We need him to pick it up if we want a chance at winning tonight. Queta is doing a pretty damn good job on the boards tonight. We have a timeout as the lead has nearly vanished. It went poof in a matter of minutes. JB with a nice pass to Minot for the basket. He drew the defense to himself and dished it off. That was pretty sweet! Minot from the corner and Bang! Minot has been a pleasant addition to the team. Cs have slowly brought the lead back up but we all know how it can disappear.

PP finds Queta for the baby one hander that was pure. Queta could make a killing at that spot if be wanted to. Minot with a huge board that leads to an extra possession for the Cs. Cs have ten offensive boards already. It's nice to have the Cs building on this lead. We are under three minutes to go but need to finish strong. JB with the strong move and scores! When he gets a head of steam there is no stopping him. He really could be unstoppable going to the cup if he wanted to. Like there isn't any defender in this league who can stop him. Cs with the lead at the half.

Cs are looking like they might be able to hang onto this lead. I'm worried about how poorly DWhite is shooting. We need him to get it going.  PP looks a lot better tonight than the first game. Minot is having himself quite the game, he's a pretty well rounded player. Cs with six blocks tonight! I love it! There's DWhite! Nice shot! All it takes is one to go in and that could open the flood gates. Once again the Pelicans are walking down this lead. Cs with a timeout as the lead is trimmed to four. They need some answers during this timeout. Crazy night as we have basketball, baseball, football, and hockey going. How freaking awesome is that!

Hauser nails a nice three when we needed it most. Cs have come back from the timeout with fire! Kudos to Joe for getting on em, and finally waking up. How about our Patriots this season folks, we actually have a real team this year. Cs are playing at a fast pace but it's not garnering results. I'm pleased with how the Celtics have weathered the storm tonight. Simons gets the bounce and we lead after the third. On to the fourth with our first victory in sight...

Here we go it's winning time... Cs are cooking up some Pelican and we are nearly at a twenty point lead. It's feeling like we are getting our first win. Celtics finally decided to finish a game and even had this lead to thirty! Overall great team effort and we defended and rebounded! Celtic Pride!

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
