Thoughts...

How quickly a potential dynasty can come crashing down. This photo above gives me the feeling of what if... Brad Stevens had finally put together a roster that was damn near incredible. This starting five was at points unbeatable. They put together a regular season where no one came close to showing they were actual competition. The Cs protected the Garden as if their lives were on the line. As we entered the playoffs it was Banner 18 or bust. The Celtics took that with pride and had one of the most dominant post season runs of all time. As the confetti settled I truly thought they were going back 2 back. Unfortunately KP was hampered by a mystery illness and JT tore his ACL. Let's not forget JB was hurt with a knee I jury. The team was sold to new ownership during the year and this summer all hell has broken loose. Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis were traded, and for all we know Al.Horford is gonna retire or join the Warriors.

The question is what's the vision for this season? Stay competitive, or flounder and then retool for when JT and JB are healthy the following season. Bring in a guy like D Lillard and really go hard at Banner 19? I do expect DWhite, and P Pritch to grow and expect to see Baylor Scheierman take that next step. I've personally been underwhelmed watching the summer league. I've had years where it's been fun to watch yet not this time. I do hope Brad finds a way to get rid of newly acquired Niang and the kid we got from Portland. This season we will really need to see Joe Mazzulla coach is rump off.

Anyone else sick of hearing about Leflop and the Fakers?!? Personally I wish he would just retire and leave the NBA alone. He's done more damage to the game than anyone I've seen. A guy like MJ made an impact that will never ever go away. The way he played, the way he won and the kicks and apparel. I currently sit here writing this with my Jordan sneaks and hat. For all the Giannis trade talk it looks like he's staying in Milwaukee. I honestly feel that's the best thing for him, unless he wants to come here lol.

I've got to say Celtics City and the Last Dance are the top two sports documentaries of all time. The way each of them captured such greatness is beautiful. Our Celtics have such a deep history that it can never be topped. I never played for the Celtics, yet as a writer I feel I'm part of the extended family. There's a pride I take in each piece I write for the team and players. How lucky are we to say we have watched some of the greatest players to ever grace the Boston Garden.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
