Emirates Cup Game 1

C's welcome the Hawks as the Emirates Cup begins tonight. To be honest I don't think this matters in the long run but the Cs might as well win it. Also even if we win it we don't raise Banners for weak titles like another organization does. We raise CHAMPIONSHIP BANNERS. We earned all 18 of ours. Unlike that Fake organization who stole five from Minneapolis and got gifted a Disney Movie type "title".

I don't care for this court... JB opens us up with a three! It's great having him back and he made some nice plays in Milwaukee last game. JB uses the Euro and scores again! C's find JB in transition and he gets to the line. You have to love the way in which JB creates his own space out there. He only hits one at the line.

C's have shown some exceptional ball movement here in the first. The shots are falling but they will. Hawks with an early lead as Joe calls a timeout. It's a whole new court and ball and honestly that's not helping the C's. JT hasn't hit a shot yet and we need to get him going. He's been involved in both ends, but he's got to score. With that said JB goes to cup and HAMMERS IT HOME!  C's use that championship level ball movement and get Jrue to the line. C's regain the lead.

Sam is the first guy off the bench, let hope he gets a few. Bogus call as the Hawks player pushes off. C's need to start to push this tempo. The ball movement has been great but the pace isn't there yet. This court is giving me a headache. Visually it's way too much. JT finally gets on the board and scores from the line. C's defense is a bit suspect right now. JT with the prettiest play so far tonight. Spins and gets to the up with the up and under. Like poetry in motion, or a perfectly cooked meal.

I love all sports but basketball to me is the best. It's always been a huge part of my life and it always will be. Kudos to Joe for wearing his cross on his shirt. I absolutely love that! Be truthful to who you are! JT for THREE!!!  JT passes Tommy Heinsohn on the C's all time scoring leader board. Memory Eternal Tommy we miss and love ya!

One heck of a play leads to Sam in the corner! C's lead after the first 31-29...

🍀🍀

We have no Jays on the floor to start. No Jays No Problem PP for three! I would love to see Jrue get inside and post up. Plus some DWhite magic out there. How about the Jrue to D for three! Love those two! The BEST BACKCOURT IN THE NBA! They are both two of the most complete basketball players in the NBA.

I'm not comfortable with the fact this lead is so small. Jrue gets inside and scores, he's so smooth. Like a nice whiskey after a hard day. JT is back in, and I need to see him get the rock. What a block by Sam! Love the hustle! Queta with a Block! Man do I love him! Al get a three! Here we go! C's with a nice run, and they are getting their mojo going.

C's must continue to push the pace here! Al gets another three off the excellent pass from JT! Absolutely flawless! Queta is the RIM PROTECTOR! Another incredible BLOCK! Queta is a guy who you can root for! He's improving in front of our eyes. JT for Three!!! JB with the OOP from DWhite!!! Loving the pace and court vision from DWhite. JB is Superman flying to the cup! I can hear John Williams Superman theme in my head!

C's lead at the half 63-54

☘️☘️☘️

C's open up the third with a deuce. I need to see the Celtics continue their excellent ball movement. Along with that they must push this pace! Run! Run! Run!

The Celtics have way too many turnovers tonight. They need to protect the rock as if the game depends on it. JB with a globe trotter step through the D and scores off glass. Big Al running the floor and scores off the Holiday pass. Jrue is an underrated passer in this league. He finds his guys where they want to be. That's a good teammate who knows his guys.

C's can't seem to shake the Hawks tonight. Love the hustle from Queta! He just continues to out work everyone else! The lead is down to six, and JB goes to his bag and nails the jumper. That was a beautiful shot and should be a painting hanging in a museum about basketball. He totally made the Hawks defender look like a fool.

PP for three from DEEP! C's are getting careless with the ball and the Hawks are right back in it. Sam from deep is as pure as dove soap! C's lead after the third 91-84.

🍀🍀🍀🍀

We are hitting the fourth quarter with a chance to earn an IST win. JT finds DWhite for a in rhythm three! The connection between JT and DWhite is special! This connection will come up huge in close games and especially the playoffs. Huge back to back threes from DWhite and JB. JB is En Fuego!

How are the Hawks this close?! DWhite nails a three and puts the lead to six. C's are going to need to play some tougher D. I really need to see the Cs lock in and finish off this Hawks team. It all starts here off of this timeout. Joe must have drawn up a good play.

JT gets inside and draws the foul, I'm surprised they called it. Back to back plays with the Jays getting inside. Those are winning plays right there. JB off the glass and the C's lead by two. DWhite for three! This darn game is not supposed to be this close. We are under five minutes to go.

C's need to lock in on D... What a block by JT! Followed up by the corner three by JB! C's are getting hacked out here. Yet I don't here any whistles... Oh wait we finally get one Brown to the line. C's by only two, need to D up!

Some huge shots from DWhite and JB here. JB has been masterful overall tonight. C's with a one point lead now need to D Up. They lose the rebound and the Hawks are up one. C's get the ball with a chance to win the game. C's lose and I'm thoroughly disgusted tonight.

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

According to many sources, the Celtics Kevin McHale did indeed have an estimated wingspan of 8-feet. One of those sources is Wikipedia, as seen below: Kevin McHale American basketball player DescriptionKevin Edward McHale is an American retired basketball player who played his entire professional career for the Boston Celtics. He is a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, and is regarded as one of the best power forwards of all time. He was named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
