Celtics play like they are in a haze

Joe that's how I feel about this gimmick called the NBA cup...

🏀

It's tipoff time! Jrue Holiday hits the first shot of the game! Let's get Jrue going early! JB with the jumper off the dribble and the C's are two for two! Queta gets the start tonight, Al is dealing with an illness. JT puts Saar in the mixer and scores. JT should cook that young man all game. It was clear in the last game we played, JT could do anything on him. I fully expect the same thing tonight. JB gets a crack at Saar and blows right by him like a flash of lightning!

Defensively the C's are not locked in. There's no doubt they can score on these Wizards, but D up! Right now the C's are not bringing the effort on D. Offensively they are cold as ice out there. They have shot so many bricks they could build a house. Not sure if they partied a bit too much after visiting the White House yesterday.

The C's need a spark, and insert Payton Pritchard! Let's hope he can get us going. Right now the C's are flat, like a tone deaf singer. If they don't wake up they will lose to this dumpster fire of a team here in Washington. Right now this is painful to watch. Sam comes off the dribble and nails the three! What a smooth move right there! Sam has grown as a player in his own right. He truly makes it rain with those rainbow threes.

JT finds PP for three! Great set off the timeout. JT steals the rock and JAMS IT HOME! It seems he may have awakened during that timeout. C's are starting to find their rhythm here as the quarter ticks away. Is it me or are there more Celtics fans than Wizards fans tonight?? We have already heard Let's Go Celtics chants tonight. C's hold a slim lead after the first.

🏀🏀

C's lack of rebounding is costing them. Plus their D still kinda SUCKS! Timeout as Joe sees his team looking like crap. No effort on D and the shots aren't falling. Personally I could care less this is a Cup game. What I care about is seeing them play basketball the right way. Celtics basketball is something to take pride in. I hope Joe rips them a new one during this timeout.

DWhite to Queta for the Jam off the timeout. Great set off the timeout. Now we need to see if their D picks up. Sam gets the steal and starts the break. It results in a foul and I like them running in transition. I'm still disgusted with where the game is. C's are getting taken to task so far. They just don't seem like a team that wants to win.

Kornet with a huge offensive rebound and he finds JB for three! Jrue hits a three and the C's are back in this one. The effort has increased on both ends. That's why good things are happening out there. If they can sustain this type of basketball they should be able to grab a nice lead before the half. Kudos to Kornet for getting us going.

C's ball movement on that last possession ending in the Kornet dunk was masterful. C's still trail by two as the half is approaching. JB to the line and we are all tied up. JB to the cup and we have the lead! Why do NBA players not follow their shots? If they did, what a wonderful world it would be. C's finish the half with a whimper. They trail by two...

🏀🏀🏀

Time for a nice run here... Great play that ends up with a JB three! Cs with great team D right there! Now that's how you start a quarter. Jrue with a good offensive rebound and he finds JB. Jrue Holiday is the ultimate pro, and one of my favorites. Jrue is a guy who just brings so much to this team.

What a clunky game right now... C's need to find themselves. Jrue posts up and scores with the left. Need to see more of that tonight. Jrue is heading to the line with a chance to tie the game. I've got to be honest but tonight kinda sucks. There is no flow to the Celtics on either end. After a long week at work, I was hoping to enjoy tonight's game. Clearly that's not happening.

Joe gets a T! Clearly he's ticked off with the non call on Brown. Plus his team is playing sluggishly. Is anyone going to wake up and play Celtics basketball?! X with a big block and Sam with a big three! I finally get a taste of some excitement tonight. In an otherwise lackluster game.

We hit the final two minutes of the third. Will the C's actually grab a lead... JB with some smooth basketball right there. So smooth you could have played Lionel Richie as he made that move. C's hold a slim lead after three.

🏀🏀🏀🏀

It comes down to who wants it more in the fourth. In this "highly" contested Cup game... This Wizards court is awful and so are their uniforms. DWhite finally hits a three! DWhite with a floater in corner! The game continues to have no rhythm.

C's need someone to step up, and it's DWhite with a huge shot. Sam Hauser makes a great steal right there. JT finally finds the cup and scores that patented fall away. C's are playing like a team who may have partied too hard the night before.

JB has quietly carried the C's tonight. Yet the lead is only four, and honestly I'm not sure how much more I can watch. This could be the ugliest game of the season. No flow on offense what so ever tonight. The defense has shown flashes but even that's been suspect. JT gets inside and goes glass. Great play by Joe off the timeout.

JB just put Brogdon in the weight room. JT with the fade away jumper! Back to back plays from your studs! C's must execute here and put this game away. JB with a rainbow fade away that was beyond beautiful. C's win!

Celtic Pride! Bleed Green! C Us Rise!

Nineteen in Green!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

According to many sources, the Celtics Kevin McHale did indeed have an estimated wingspan of 8-feet. One of those sources is Wikipedia, as seen below: Kevin McHale American basketball player DescriptionKevin Edward McHale is an American retired basketball player who played his entire professional career for the Boston Celtics. He is a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, and is regarded as one of the best power forwards of all time. He was named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
