C's Motor Into Detroit

 First Quarter 🏀

C's jump out to a 10-4 lead do to some excellent ball movement. We have our wise Jedi Al Horford leading by example tonight. I tell ya Al never seems to truly age. He's the consummate pro and one of my favorites on this team. I'll go out on a limb and say he's making the Hall of fame one day.

This Pistons pace is very fast, C's need to slow them down. On the other end we see the flawless ball movement by the C's leading to a JT three. Swish! JT finds the same spot on the next possession and let's it fly again. Swish! JT goes side to side and nails his third three in a row! Swish! As Tommy used to say Bing Bang Boom!

Do you ever just watch Jrue Holiday play defense. The way he gets his body into the offensive player is stout. He uses his physical nature to affect those he's guarding. He doesn't even give them an inch. He always keeps himself between the player and the rim. I love watching him play post defense that's an art to itself. Defense is incredibly beautiful to me as a basketball guy myself.

JT just went up and hurt the rim! Celtics fans we are watching the blossoming of an MVP season early on. You have to love what JT said before the season started. Talking about how Larry Bird was the bench Mark and that's who he is chasing. If he achieves that goal that drives him we may be watching the greatest Celtic of all time. JT is absolutely dominant right now! He's very Jordanesque right now! JT is EN Fuego!

C's are holding onto a five point lead, as Joe calls a timeout. Excellent play that leads to Kornet finding Pritchard for three! Love seeing what they come out with after timeouts. That's the mark of a great team and coaching staff. What a drive by Jrue while finding Pritchard for three! This group is so unselfish, gotta love it! Celtics lead 42-31🍀

Second Quarter 🏀🏀

I'm hoping the C's can build this lead to at least twenty. Pritch is rolling early on for the C's. He's our super sub! Al Horford with the offensive tip in off the miss! He looked about 20 years younger on that one! Follows that up with beautiful three! Al is truly ageless, and just a heck of a teammate. Al with yet another three!

C's are really becoming the standard of the NBA. JB with an incredible three from the corner over his defender. The defenders name doesn't even matter at this point. C's have built the lead up to twenty, can they go for thirty? Are teams supposed to be this good so early in the season? I can't remember seeing this group look so unreal so early. The way they are moving the ball is on another level.

Thank you Steve Kerr for sitting JT in the Olympics. You have created a man possessed by proving he should have been in there. Olympic basketballs loss is now the Celtics gain! C's are allowing the Pistons to creep back in. Guys need to settle themselves and execute at an elite level. Have I ever mentioned how NBA refs absolutely suck. I mean of all the major sports they are the worst.

JB is a guy who is elite and yet gives extreme effort on each play. He just doesn't really on his immense God given ability. He missed that first shot but his second effort ended up with him scoring. I love him! I also love seeing the Cs score in transition. CS lead at halftime 73-62🍀🍀

Third Quarter 🏀🏀🏀

CS must establish getting into the paint here in the third. JT posts up and goes off glass! He should be able to dominate anyone who guards him this season. Holy Moly! JB from way way downtown! BOOM BABY! C's are crashing the glass which I approve of! I need more of that as this game tightens up.

Shot clock is winding down and Jrue draws the foul. That's a savvy more from the silky smooth veteran. CS defense is lacking here in the third and Joe gets the timeout. If I'm not liking what I see, he's gonna be pissed. Time for the C's to tighten up and send the Pistons to an early shower.

The lead is shrinking as I type. What a dirty play by Harris with the elbow to JB. That's great D by JB, but he didn't deserve that elbow to the face. C's are only up by four, now is the time for that championship DNA to kick in. JB needs to hit at least one of these free throws here. C's must execute well here to close out the third. All I can say is this is becoming too close for comfort

JT tells Cade to get that weak crap outta here! We have a timeout as the C's trail for the first time all game. C's need to wake up. It's nice seeing JT take the rock to the rack. Drawing the foul and hitting the free throws. JT finds X for the THREE!!! JT for three off the screen is Cash Money! Celtics lead 94-93🍀🍀🍀

4th Quarter 🏀🏀🏀🏀

C's must get some stops here in the fourth. Try to build some of that lead back. JB gets the foul and drains the freebies. X with back to back Tommy point plays! Love him! JB is abusing Beasley in the paint. No way he can be stopped by him. His defense is lacking.

Tonight's a barn burner... CS need to turn up the defense here. I'm not liking the fact we are trailing so late in the game. DWhite with the opportunity for the And One! DWhite completes the three point play and the Cs lead by one. Game continues to go back and forth here.

CS trail by four, let's figure this out and make a play. Time for some defensive stops. DWhite makes a huge one here. C's can't buy a freaking bucket. Things aren't looking good for a win. Excellent ball movement leads to a Jrue corner bomb! Jrue with another bomb! Ties the game! JB with GREAT D! FORCES THE SHOT CLOCK VIOLATION.

DWhite to JT down low! Money! Jrue HUGE STEAL! Man do I love him! Crunch time and JT posts up and draws the foul. DWhite with the block of the season! What a freaking block! Championship plays being made tonight in the fourth! The C's needed to make a stop here and didn't. The lead is back down to one.  I love seeing Joe wearing his cross on his shirt. On the missed free throw JB secures that board with his monstrous strength. GAME SET MATCH

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

According to many sources, the Celtics Kevin McHale did indeed have an estimated wingspan of 8-feet. One of those sources is Wikipedia, as seen below: Kevin McHale American basketball player DescriptionKevin Edward McHale is an American retired basketball player who played his entire professional career for the Boston Celtics. He is a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, and is regarded as one of the best power forwards of all time. He was named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
