Cs look to cast a magical spell against the Wizards

C's are in Washington as they look to improve to 2-0. First road game of the season against a team that only won 15 games last year.

 1st Q☘️

Happy Birthday to our own Jaylen Brown! He's only 28 folks and is becoming an even more elite player. C's must play hard on both ends against this young Wizards team. C's are in their black uniforms with green lettering. DWhite opens us up with a beautiful three point shot! On their very next possession we see Tatum with an easy layup. C's are pushing the pace early. As the late great Tommy Heinsohn would say RUN!

Tonight should be a very good test for these Celtics in staying focused against an inferior team. Derrick White is a very smooth player on both ends of the floor. His game fits this team like a glove! JTs fall away jumper has clearly improved since last season. His fall away reminds me of Michael Jordans. C's have caught the Wizards on opening night for them and they came to play. Joe takes an early timeout as the C's trail. Let's hope they respond, or it's gonna be a long night.

C's will need to win this quarter on the defensive end tonight. We have our first subs of the game with Luke and Payton coming in. The way Tatum is able to bully his defender is huge! What a move! Nice to see X hit his first three tonight. I really feel he's going to have a great year with the C's. He was a solid player for Memphis, and I like what he did last season for us. Solid defender, and under Mazzulla I expect his offensive game to grow.

JT is looking like a scoring machine again tonight. I absolutely love how his game has and is developing. Derrick White is an amazing defender and makes key plays every game. He just picked that Wizards pocket. Which led to the C's getting out in transition. When this group does everything well they are tough to beat. C's with a slim lead after the first 33-32.

2nd Q🍀🍀

Washington has done their best to stop the Cs from shooting threes. CS will need to change their strategy and attack the rim. Maybe JT and JB can utilize their mid range game here in the second. Great defense on that initial possession! Love seeing Al give some help to X! Teamwork!

Excellent job by Jrue forcing the defender to foul him on the three ball. Savvy move by the silky smooth veteran! JB with the step out on D leads to Kispert traveling. Love the hustle on D by one of your elite players. JBs ability as a defender makes him a two way monster and honestly a guy who should get MVP consideration.

We get Queta out here early tonight, I like this kid a lot. He knows where to position himself on both ends out there. C's are having some really bad breakdowns on D. Timeout by Joe, he needs to get these guys back in gear. They need to finish this second quarter off the right way. Don't give this Wizards team any hope. JB comes out and gets right to the cup.

C's offensive ball movement is a thing of beauty. DWhite finishes it off with a corner three where you could hear the swish even before it hit. The sounds of basketball are music to my ears. I love sports, but basketball is my first love. The sound of the ball going through the net, sneakers on the floor, and the ball being dribbled. These refs are starting to suck here at the end of the quarter. Typical garbage NBA fixing refs...

Al earns the C's another possession and JB makes it count. By manning up and getting to the rack! JB does it again at the rack! Back 2 Back at the Rack! C's lead by ten 64-54.

3rd Q☘️☘️☘️

C's must clean up their defense in the paint. I would love to see them get the ball to Jrue and Derrick a bit more. Currently we only have nine assists, that needs to change. If we can get some of the ball movement that led to DWhite nailing that corner three in the second quarter, we should be able to extend the lead here in the third.

C's start the third in transition and JB gets the deuce! CS are pushing the ball up the floor here in the third. Gotta love that plan as the lead blossoms to fourteen. DWhite comes off the screen and nails a three! That shot for him is just about automatic! DWhite should be an all-star this season. He definitely deserved it last season. But the rest of the league missed the boat on that.

Payton Pritchard has played extremely well tonight. He's a huge asset off the bench. Kid also has no fear whatsoever! Gotta love it! You can rename the in season tournament all you want, but it still means nothing. The only thing that matters is CHAMPIONSHIPS! At least in Boston! Unlike another organization who also celebrates mickey mouse titles.

Cs have gracefully built this lead up to twenty. Everything I was looking for at half has pretty much happened and here we are. When these guys are on they are unstoppable. This team has truly found each other, and it's because they believe in Joes system! CS are going to be a problem for the NBA all season. As the quarter comes to an end the Celtics lead by twenty five 98-73.

4th Q🍀🍀🍀🍀

JB opens the third with a deep three! Followed up by another one! C's are cruising towards victory! X hits a three! It's looking more and more like the bench will be playing in this fourth. Jordan Walsh has entered the game. Celtics win!

Bleed Green! Celtic Pride! C Us Rise! Nineteen in Green!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S...
