Game 5 NBA Finals

C's enter the TD Garden with an opportunity to clinch a title!

First Quarter 🏀

Tip off is next! Jrue Holiday opens up the scoring! DWhite with a huge steal on the other end. Jrue again with a sweet inside shot! Jrue has six early points, I like where he's going tonight. Al for three!!! I like where this game is going so far. Defense wins championships!!! Blow the doors off these guys! DWhite gets to the line. KP is in the GAME! DWhite for three! KP doesn't look like himself at all right now. C's need to go on a run after this timeout. It was needed and Joe called it. C's are leaving some points out there. If they start clicking tonight could be a run away. Yet it's still tight right now. C's finish on a 9-0 run and we are up ten!

Second Quarter ☘️☘️

I look for the C's to push their lead here in the second. I need even more out of Tatum and Brown. They both finished strong in those last two minutes. Thanks to Jrue for controlling that first quarter. I need more Jrue and Derrick especially on the defensive end. It would be nice if KP can get it going. Back to back threes by Sam and JB. C's need a run to blow this open! Jrue for three!!! JT for the AND ONE! JT is getting down hill! I like his aggression and willingness to get to the cup. Keep it cooking JT! Keep this lead growing. C's take a timeout as Dallas goes on a mini run. I hope after this timeout they can get those points back. Need to finish this quarter strong, tighten up the D and keep attacking the cup. Come on guys, grab a huge lead going into the half. Then let it rip for the third and fourth quarters. C's a doing for every loose ball tonight! DWhite is bloodied and bruised. Brown and White with back to back threes!!! JT for three!!! C's are up at half after the Pritchard three!!!

Third Quarter 🏀🏀🏀

C's must come out and knock these Mavs on their rumps! JT is having one of those nights and it needs to roll through this quarter and the next. The way the C's diving on the floor is straight heart, and shows Celtic Pride! Those have been Tommy Points from my perspective. JT with the JAM! DWhite for three!!! Al for three!!! C's need a monster run here to close these guys out. Run them off the court! As the lead grows the championship gets closer and closer. Don't take your foot off the gas pedal! JT has played a great game on all fronts tonight! The entire team has made plays when needed. Need to close the final five minutes out with force and strength. Dallas has cut this lead to eighteen... Timeout by Joe and I expect them to play incredible ball for the last four minutes and change. After that it's down to twelve minutes.

Fourth Quarter 🍀🍀🍀🍀

C's have a 19 point lead as we enter the fourth quarter. DWhite with the BLOCK!!! C's must continue to defend and run their offense. Come on guys tighten it up! Great D by KP forcing a garbage shot. JB to KP for the JAM! This game and this moment approaching has been a long time coming! DWhite for three!!! JT with the AND ONE! JT again!!! The countdown is at six minutes! JT AGAIN!!! Guess what JT AGAIN!!! It's down to four minutes and thirty nine seconds! Banner 18 is almost a reality! I believe it but I don't believe it! I have grown to love Coach Joe Mazzulla!!! Two thirty seven left!

THE BOSTON CELTICS ARE THE NBA CHAMPIONS! ONCE AGAIN THE GREATEST DYNASTY IN SPORTS HAS DONE IT! BANNER 18!!!!

  1. D White’s dive for a loose ball and face flattening by Lively followed by a couple of threes and a stupendous at the rim block epitomizes this team. Selfless, Defense led, and doing whatever it takes. I loved Zack Lowe’s piece on ESPN this am on dynasties and our chances to repeat…. Glad I could enjoy it with you virtually.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...

Wemby versus Kareem as rookies

We already know that the Spurs Victor Wembanyama is going to be an NBA phenomenon, but will he surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar by the end of his career. It is highly likely.  I did a "per-36-minutes" comparison between the two stars, mainly because Kareem logged 43.1 MPG in his rookie campaign - while Wemby has been held to only 29.4 MPG. Kareem: 24.1 PPG - 12.1 RPG - 3.4 APG - .518 FG - .653 FT Wemby:  25.9 PPG - 12.9 RPG - 4.5 APG - .463 FG - .796 FT No blocks, steals or 3-pointers were looked at since they were not tracked in Jabbar's first year in the NBA. It should also be noted that Kareem was 22 years old at the time, while Victor started at age 20. Two factors favoring Wembanyama ultimately surpassing Jabbar on any "Best-of-All-Time" charts are his point guard skills , shared by so many European players.  and the fact he is being mentored by Gregg Popovich. His potential seems astounding. But the question remains. Can he garner six Titles and six MVP ...
