Friday Night Fun

No Embid... No Maxey... No problem??? C's take on a wounded Sixers team.

1st Q 🏀

JB welcomes the short handed Sixers with a steal and SLAM! Al for three, the C's need to keep pushing on offense. We see some great passing from Brown to Tatum to Al for a pure three from the corner! Love seeing the ball zipping around. JT just made Mook Morris look old. C's need to tighten up on defense. Jrue Holiday out here throwing Lazer like threes into the bottom of the cup. C's offense looks very good, the D not so much. Love you see JT attacking the paint especially with no Embid clogging up the middle. Both Tatum and Brown should own the paint. Keep attacking and forcing the Sixers to foul you! JT is killing em softly! Love when the C's press on D! Tatum to me is starting to out think the defense. Realizing the Sixers have no post presence on D, he continues to own the rim. I have to admit Sam Hauser is becoming automatic from deep. Every three brings the rain! Delano delightful, drives and scores. Love the aggressiveness! Queta is in and expect max effort on both ends of the floor. Would definitely like to see DWhite get going on offense. Too many turnovers tonight. Better clean things up! Nice to see the Truth in the building tonight. Sam I am hits a DEEEEEEP three to end the quarter. C's lead after one, but need to clean things up on both ends.

2nd Q ☘️☘️

Time for the C's to flex their muscle and blow the doors off the Sixers. C's need to tighten up cleaning up the glass. JT finally hits a three, now get back to going to the hoop! C's can't keep allowing the Sixers to stay afloat. Stop playing with your food fellas. PP finding Sam for three was a great basketball play. PP was able to get the D to commit and found Sam in the flow of the offense. Mazzulla with a much needed timeout. The C's have seven plus minutes to force their will against the Sixers. I hope Joe is reaming them a new one. I for one feel disappointed with the fact the Sixers are up one. Great drive by Jrue, gets into the paint and finds Al. C's aren't playing very much defense at all... Al bringing energy to a team that needs it right now. DWhite with a HUGE steal! That's a Tommy Point! Tatum finds DWhite for a big three! C's are getting hosed by some of these calls. Al just played great D and we get bit by the whistle. Browns dribble step back fall away is tough to stop. DWhite is such a heady player as he grabs the deuce, plus the and one! C's trail at the half, and it's gross.

3rd Q 🍀🍀🍀

Time to play some defense or this game is only going to get worse. Celtics offensive spacing is leading to easy buckets. Al diving on the floor, TOMMY POINT! Al is bringing everything he has tonight. Diving on the floor, playing tough D and making winning plays. The man needs a ring this season. We see the value of DWhite as he splits the D and draws the foul. Knowing there is no real paint presence on D for the Sixers. Keep exposing them Derrick! C's tightening up on D and it leads to JB in transition! Now is where we need to see the C's make a run! I hate these dumb green light specials. There's no need to call a timeout. Ask New York for the call and move it along. What a waste of time! Brown with an incredible block! Love the hustle on D! C's are going to need to toughen up and finish out this quarter. JT gets ejected for getting heated with a power hungry ref.

4th Q 🏀🏀🏀🏀

JB needs to have that signature fourth quarter. PP hits a three and we need to play D! Man these refs SUCK! Al getting hosed by a trash call. PP with the oop to Queta! Love it! Jrue with the steal and finds PP for THREE! Queta out here out working the Philly D. The C's D with some EPIC BLOCKS! AL FREAKING HORFORD BABY! Al with a huge assist as Jrue Nails a corner three ball! Al is doing it all tonight! Al seems to have found the fountain of youth tonight. I need to see JB step up and making winning plays now. DWhite with a Huge lefty layup! Al gets to the line and hits some money free throws. I'm still waiting to see JB make a key play. Al, DWhite, and Jrue have all made an impact here in the fourth. PP has even made a few key plays too. There's JB with a huge midrange jumper! C's are getting hosed by some of these calls. Al gets the go a head bucket as he posts up. Kudos to JB hitting key free throws in crunch time. Jrue HOLIDAY! Reads the play and forces a charge! Love him! He heads to line and makes clutch free throws as well. C's win! Celtic Pride! Bleed Green! Not the prettiest win but I'll take it.

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

According to many sources, the Celtics Kevin McHale did indeed have an estimated wingspan of 8-feet. One of those sources is Wikipedia, as seen below: Kevin McHale American basketball player DescriptionKevin Edward McHale is an American retired basketball player who played his entire professional career for the Boston Celtics. He is a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, and is regarded as one of the best power forwards of all time. He was named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
