In Season Tournament North of the Border

Celtics travel to Toronto for the next leg of the In Season Tournament. We welcome the return of Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis. We have the backcourt of defense with DWhite and Jrue Holiday. While Jayson Tatum continues his MVP like run.

First Quarter ☘️

This Raptors court is gross! C's offense seems to been left in Philly. The defense is picking up the slack and we are right back in the game. C's are getting hacked like there are no officials out there. JB showing off his passing skills and finds Jrue in the corner for three. Give me more of that! JB has a knack of getting the D to commit to him as he drives, why not kick it out like that. Better than over dribbling or turning it over. What a solid basketball play. Not liking the carelessness with the ball on offense tonight. C's need to pound it inside given the three ball sucks so far. JB just sent Shroders weak layup to the second row! Hauser with the Rainbow three, need to see more of those fall. As I wrote it he did it again! Hauser with a downtown Boston Rainbow three this time! He's lighting it up! C's trail after one tonight. Better pick it up in the second.

Second Quarter 🏀🏀

Sam comes back out firing and hits another three. Man do I love seeing Jrue Holiday grabbing boards out there. Dude is an all around stud player. He does it all, he's like the handy man who can fix any appliance! C's come out locked and loaded and have grabbed that lead! The ball movement has been something to behold. Did Sam Hauser just dunk?! YES HE DID! Z just shoots right over the defender! Gimme that all night. C's push the ball after the made basket and that leads to a JB nothing but net three. Push the pace! Let's GO! I have to say, I'm not very impressed with Scottie Barnes, despite how much Scal drools over him. What an OOP from JB to Z! Rock that rim big fella! C's are running in transition and taking it to the Raptors. TATUM with the two hand SLAM! C's are exploiting the weaker Raptor defenders. That's the sign of a smart team. C's lead after two, they are going to make the Raptors go extinct.

Third Quarter ☘️🍀☘️

C's outrebounded the Raptors in that first half. That's what you want to see if your a Celtics fan. What you don't want to see is the Raptors go on a run which they are. JB with the great pass to Z inside for the deuce. C's need to amp in their D and build this lead back up. Lapses in D are costing us points in this third. You have to want it on every play! That 9-0 Raptors run was just a lack of effort on defense. Cs are getting hosed by some of these calls. Trent flopped to the floor and gets the call. He missed his first free throw and I'll I can say is the ball don't lie! JB out there picking Siakims pocket! Defense wins championships! C's lead by only three after three. It should be a lot more.

Fourth Quarter 🏀🏀🏀🏀

Time for the C's to tighten it up and lock down the Raptors. Not liking the offense right now. Way too many stinking threes, can we get to the paint? Tatum with an incredible pass to Al for the lead! Al with another big shot! Bing! Bang! BOOM! Al Horford is the consummate pro and I really hope he gets a ring this season. This Raptors team shouldn't even be in this game, yet they are. C's have a slim lead... If they lose it will be a shame. Especially against an inferior team like the Raptors. What an exceptional drive by JB which was huge. Jrue finds DERRICK WHITE FOR THREEEEEEEEE! C's with a huge shot to grab the lead! Thank you DWhite! Time to D up! What a drive and pass by Jrue to set that up! C's Win!

Celtic Pride! Bleed Green!

The Celtics Knight wishes everyone a goodnight. 🍀☘️🏀

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

Nik Stauskas adds "shooting with size" voiced by Brad Stevens

As a 6'6" shooting guard, 28-year-old Nik Stauskas adds that shooting with size sorely needed by the Boston Celtics. Drafted 8th-overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2014, Stauskas has bounced around to various teams since then. Nik Stauskas' deal with the Boston Celtics includes non-guaranteed salary for the second season in 2022-23, a source tells @celticsblog . — Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) March 4, 2022 Nik has never averaged more than 9.5 points per game in the NBA, but Boston is most likely counting on his production for Grand Rapids in the G League as the incentive to sign him. In 17 games thus far, he has averaged 24.7 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 4.8 APG - while shooting 50% on field goals and 45% on treys. Nik Stauskas is signing a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics, his agents Mark Bartelstein and Andy Shiffman of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Stauskas had an historic week, scoring 100 points on 57 and 43 point performances in back-to-back games for Grand Rapids. — Adrian Wo
