PreSeason Game Knicks vs Celtics

From all reports we will see the Celtics starters play regular minutes. DWhite gets the start and we will get a glimpse of what we can be. Al will come off the bench tonight. I really want to see how Jrue and DWhite play together. Back to DWhite, let's sign this man to a contract extension! I want him to be here and retire here! Love watching him play for us.

First play of the game sees JT run point as Jrue posts up and kicks out to Z for three! Tatum again runs the point and finds DWhite for three! The C's have unicorns on this roster. When you have a guard who can post up like Jrue does watch out! That's old school basketball when you see guys posting up! C's are playing with true aggression! Plus they are hitting that glass! It's the little things that add up! You want the ring, every play matters.

Al Horford with the hustle play of the day! Throwing it off of the Knicks player out of bounds! Gotta love the hustle out of your oldest player. Hoping this is the season Al gets his ring. Al is the consummate pro, and he's been solid for the C's for both his stints here. He was a good player for the Hawks, but he's a Celtic through and through.

I like seeing both Hauser and Pritchard out there together. Both of those guys will keep the defense honest out there. Both guys have the ability to be elite shooters. I do believe Pritchard has the higher upside between the two.

It's clear the C's offense is based on shooting the three still. My hope is that when it's not falling they learn to go inside and not settle for bad threes. This season should show how they have grown as a team and Joe as a coach. Forty one points in the first is a nice way to start things off. I hope this team is a defense first oriented team. Defense leads to offense and that leads to wins.

Let us all relish in Mike Gorman's final season as Celtics announcer. Boy am I gonna miss him. How lucky are we as Celtics fans to have him. He deserves to see this team grab a banner before he's done. It's an end to an era... With Tommy passing away and Mike retiring what are we gonna do! Scal just doesn't cut the mustard for me.

I truly thought last year's team had what it took to win it all. Sadly they failed. I really believe if this team stays healthy it's our title to win. Denver and Milwaukee will be threats but we are the team to beat!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S

Did the Celtics Kevin McHale really have a wingspan of 8-feet?

According to many sources, the Celtics Kevin McHale did indeed have an estimated wingspan of 8-feet. One of those sources is Wikipedia, as seen below: Kevin McHale American basketball player DescriptionKevin Edward McHale is an American retired basketball player who played his entire professional career for the Boston Celtics. He is a Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, and is regarded as one of the best power forwards of all time. He was named to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
