Friday Night and Prepare for a fight! Celtics take on the Cavs

DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE!
We must improve our D this season and get it back into last year's mode of excellence!

 1st Quarter ☘️

Refs are already in epic form, calling early fouls on the good guys! Love seeing JB banging and bodying up Allen. Not the best start, Celtics trail early. They are going to have to solve this Cavs tough defense. This Cavs team is long and presents a lot of issues for the C's.

C's bring in Blake Griffin in hopes to combat the Cavs size down low. Gotta shake things up to improve our chance to get back in this game. Donovan Mitchell is here to play, hitting everything he's taking. Until this D improves it's going to be a long game and season for that matter.

JB on the offensive end attacking Allen and drawing the foul. If we can continue to be this aggressive, we have a shot. Al looks very spry tonight! Finding his 2 point game where he left it. Attack Al Attack! No three's please!

Loving the C's running in transition, but you have to be in control Hauser. Excellent defense by Malcolm Brogdon, not only can he pass and score, but his D is stout! The C's have recovered defensively and the offense is coming along. Blake Griffin has earned a Johnny/Tommy point, diving for the loose ball to earn the C's a possession!

What a finish at the end of 1st, Hauser hits the three and we own the lead 34-33!

2nd Quarter 🍀🍀

Tonight feels like it could be a barn burner! Mitchell and Smart with dueling deuces off the glass! JT when he drives is unstoppable as he follows up a missed three. JT has the length and ability to get to the hoop whenever he wants.

JT dishing to JB who attacks the rim for the deuce! Gotta love it! When JB attacks he's extremely tough to guard. The Jays are dueling for driving supremacy! Keep taking it to the hoop fellas! Let's force these refs to keep using there whistles!

Kudos to the Green Kornet, he looks more comfortable tonight and is playing a solid game so far. C's have clearly shown that despite the Cavs size they are not afraid!

The C's offense is EXPLODING! This is who they can be on offense. Just need that D to shape up and we will be golden! It's been an exciting Friday night of basketball so far! JB is loving the lefty layups tonight! Celtics lead after two, 75-62.

3rd Quarter ☘️☘️🍀

We are back in action, let's see what adjustments the C's have made! Hopefully it adds up to a huge run to put this game away for good! C's start off the third with the double big lineup. Very intelligent move by the young coach!

The Wolverine is doing his thing, picking Mitchell's pocket and then diving for the loose ball on the next possession! It's those plays that have endeared him to Celtics fans!

The Cavs aren't going away quietly, slowly they have chipped away at the lead. Watching Marcus pass the ball this season shows how much he's grown! Building off of last year he's getting even better.

It's a one possession game right now, we need to see the C's finish strong. JT to the Wolverine for threeeeeeeee!!! Great rebound by Marcus with a long touchdown pass to DWhite who lays it in. Celtics lead 99-95 going into the 4th.

4th Quarter 🍀🍀🍀🍀

Time to lock it down as we enter the fourth! Defense is going to be the key. DWhite doing it on both ends, with the nice drive and following it up with a drawn charge. Let's add an excellent pass to the Green Kornet going down the lane!

JB breaks out the Big guns and drives to the cup for the and one! Let's Go!!! The Cavs have the length, but the C's have the strength!

Where has the Celtics offense gone, they are as cold as ice. JB with a sweet fall away to add to the lead. When you can't rebound you are going to suffer. Malcolm Brogdon going out of bounds getting it to JT to JB for the go ahead layup! Need a huge defensive stop fellas! Horrible foul called on Al. Absolutely horrible!

Overtime ☘️🍀☘️🍀☘️

First OT game of the year, hopefully they come out hot. C's finally score with JT going to the rack. If Scal doesn't keep drooling over Mitchell I'm gonna be sick! JB just brought the hammer and house down! C's luck may have just run out, lack of D and rebounding has hurt them exponentially. Sloppy play late leads to a loss.

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S
