The nickname won't stick - mine never do, but Rob Williams is undeniably THE BOSTON LOB-ster. According to NBA.com, the Celtics 6'8" center connects on 76% of his shots from less that five feet - 84% of his alley-oops - and 89% of his alley-oop dunks.
It is not surprising that main facilitator for a lot of Williams' finishes happens to be Marcus Smart (51 assists to Rob), followed by Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum with 32 assists/each - you know, the two guys that refuse to pass the ball.
The stats show what most fans have seen - namely that once away from the hoop (5-9 feet from the basket), his accuracy fades to a pedestrian 46%. But right now, he is our very own BOSTON LOB-ster, and I love this young man's game.
