Thoughts on Celtics 122-113 OT win over wounded Bucks

     First Half Thoughts

     1st Quarter

Label this writer being disappointed that The Greek isn't playing. With that said, you get a wounded Bucks team that needs to be put in their place! Celtics fans get to welcome back the ultimate do your job player in Semi Ojeleye! Bobby Portis is a guy Celtics fans would love to have on our team.

JT to Al to RWill for the JAM, starting off the scoring tonight. Al with some busy hands on D, following up misses and getting put backs. Al to DS for three, he liked it so much DS did it again. Plus he's using his lightning quick skills to get to the hoop. DS once again getting buckets. DS using his slithery silky smooth moves to get to the hoop.

JT using his strength to get to the hoop tonight, nailing a three in Allen's face, with some Duke on Duke crime. JT nailing a three which when it goes in sounds like joy out of the hoop. JT crashing the boards. Thanasis looking like his brother out there. Al nailing a top of the key three! GWill cutting for two! So many wasted shots on both ends from the three point line. Celtics and Bucks all tied up 30-30

     2nd Quarter

Smart had a nice drive for two to open things up. GWill has lost that Curry like touch from three point land. Smart kept the ball alive which led to JRich going to the hoop for two! The way this team keeps the ball alive is something Tommy would be proud of

Smart to Nesmith in the corner for three, buckets! Smart liked it so much he made one himself. Some sloppy offense right now, need to tighten things up fellas! Tatum with yet another lovely sounding three! That swish is music to Celtics fans ears. Smart to RWill to the hoop, Smarts playmaking ability is improving.

Overall defensive effort has been pretty good. If they can harness working hard on D they can be a problem. On offense we are seeing a few too many TOs. You can't let a wounded team hang around. Get it together guys, finish this quarter strong. JT with the step away fall away. Swoosh! JT off a nice pass by RWill. Celtics D forcing turnovers. Yet they trail at the half 55-51.

     Second Half Thoughts

     3rd Quarter

JT with a straight away nothing but net three! DS using his elite speed getting to the hoop! DS to RWill for two is money! Al with a nice block to get things going on D! It's time to put the Bucks to sleep. Marcus for two. The Bucks are unrelenting. Marcus to the hoop driving on Allen.

Great D to force a 24 second violation! Smart scores again! Marcus for three! Tatum with another in your face three! DS using his cheetah like quickness for a nice layup! There are some very nice pieces on this team. RWill to Romeo with the subtle dunk.

JRich drawing the foul on Semi. JT to the hoop, tunneling through the D. If Scal mentions how he wants to see LBJ I'm gonna have to turn the volume off, but hearing Mike Gorman is worth it. Al from the Wolverine got the fans on their feet! Celtics lead 88-81 after the third.

     4th Quarter

DS to the hoop to open up the Celtics scoring in the 4th. Dude is lightning quick and very efficient at the rim. DS again! Celtics need to watch out Bobby Portis is heating up. Time out Celtics time to regroup and finish strong.

DS with the steal, DS with the rebound, he's doing a bit of everything tonight. He's a jack of all trades. DS with the floater! It caught some of today's rain on the way down. Any Pats fans, we get a Kyle Van Noy sighting. DS for three, dude is balling tonight! Talk about playing for a new contract!

RWill with a great offensive rebound jumping into the rafters to secure it. JT using his body to get to the line. Celtics have a lead but it's definitely not a comfortable one, the Bucks came to play tonight channeling their inner Giannis. Tatum sizing Semi up and drilling a three in his eye! Smart to RWill with the HAMMER!

Tonight's game has had it's ebbs and flows, this Bucks team plays like their leader even when he's out. Celtics have been consistent in their effort tonight on both ends. Not a perfect game, but this team is starting to take on a hard nosed identity. Smart gets to the hoop as if Moses parted the Red Sea. The Garden is rocking, as DS gets a huge shot.

Celtics - Bucks stand tied at 108, time out Celtics. What play would you draw up Celtics fans? It's down to the wire tonight! Tatum with the rock and we are heading to OT.

     Overtime

Another OT for the Celtics, DS with another floater! Portis ties it up. JT driving and kicking to RWill. Free throws! Celtics secure the rebound, bad offensive possession. DS with another huge shot! RWill blocks old friend Semi, DS with the left hand! Celtics by five! Garden is Rocking! RWill with a huge block! Celtics with a 122-113 win! Bleed Green!

In defense of Marcus Smart

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game. Marcus and his teammates have been under-performing generally - were in the process of losing to a pathetic-and-tanking Thunder team - and Smart was having a bad game . And he let loose verbally at the closest target - an NBA official. Wilt Chamberlain did a similar act versus referee, Earl Strom when Wilt was having his usual tortuous time at the free throw line (per Chicago Tribune's Sam Smith): ''He was in one of those 1-for-13s,'' recalls referee Earl Strom. ''Nothing was getting close. S
