Bruno Fernando is an unknown for Celtics fans except for a small taste in Summer League. A player like Bruno, who was willing to play in the G League, shows character and willingness to stay and contribute in the NBA.
For this writer, let's look at what he said about KG. “That’s a no-brainer,” Fernando said, when asked about Boston greats he admires.
“Kevin Garnett. That’s my favorite player of all the time. I’ve always looked up to him, I remember my days of high school, my days of college, you know I was watching a lot of his highlights.”
With that quote, let's see what he can offer over guys like Grant Williams or Jabari Parker. If Bruno can come in off the bench and bring even a fraction of KGs intensity, Celtics fans may have a winner on hand. He could be the guy who comes in and spells Al, Enes, or RW. If he truly models his game after KG, let's hope he can D up and rebound like him! The offense will eventually come.
Let's be real as Celtics fans. We know what we have in Grant, Jabari and even Carsen Edwards. Bruno could be a guy that may have a nice ceiling for this team. Plus with all the other moves we made, a lot of minutes are already called for. So for those limited minutes, let's Bruno a shot!
