Jayson Tatum always had passing skills. They just needed to be deployed.

I have written previously about Brad Stevens injecting Jayson Tatum into the point guard slot on occasion. Here is a portion of my logic:

"Tatum may already be in the conversation for MVP as early as this season if he takes a bit of a leap. He has already honed his passing skills which were evident in the post-season (5.0 APG). Getting time at the point could improve his ball-handling and facilitation skills even further."

"Taking this a bit further, Tatum has the potential to be a 5-position player. He lives and breathes basketball and works on his craft endlessly. Being able to man the PG, SG, SF, PF and C positions should be on his to-do list. This young man is so versatile, don't dismiss the idea." 

In Boston's 120-120 victory over the Detroit Pistons last night, Jayson racked up a career-high 12 assists. He was looking to distribute the ball, and it worked nicely.

Call him "point guard" or "point forward", Tatum is proving that he is a compete player, approaching super-stardom. Facilitating for his teammates is one of the few remaining skills to get him into the MVP conversation. It now looks like that skill was always there. All that was needed was the inclination to deploy it.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

  Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson.
