It's Tacko's Time to shine tonight

It very well could be a bare-bones situation for the Boston Celtics tonight against the rival Miami Heat. With only the League-minimum eight players listed as "available", it could mean Tacko Time is finally here.

The "Green Giant" has seen some increased minutes in two games thus far this season, and he has obviously been working on his game. His fouls and turnovers are both down. Admittedly, this year's sample is small, but last season his per-36-minutes stats show 7.6 fouls and 3.3 turnovers. This season they reveal 5.8 fouls and ZERO turnovers.

Tacko's offensive rebounding is one reason Boston ranks third in the NBA in offensive rebounds per game (11.7 RPG). Despite not having elite athleticism, he is a fabulous rim protector. In a zone defense, he would be a major obstacle for opponents driving into his territory.

In Fall's two games this season, he has averaged a mere 12.5 MPG. That should change tonight. Hey, why not? It is early in the season - Boston is tied with the 76'ers, Suns and Lakers for the best record in the NBA (7-3) - and it is time to give him significant minutes while he is still COVID-free.

Tacko rebounds, blocks-and-deters shots, has good hands to catch and finish on lobs, and he is a great teammate. Big men in the League take a bit longer to develop. Tacko is still raw, but with the proper seasoning, he could be a big (literally) weapon in Brad Stevens' arsenal.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
