Grant Williams is a keeper for the Boston Celtics

Kudos to Celtics rookies Grant Williams and Tremont Waters for their contributions last night in what turned out to be a disappointing 99-94 loss to the Washington Wizards. Waters scored eight points in a mere seven minutes on 3-of-6 from the field. But it was Grant Williams that gave Boston some hope in the loss.


Grant logged 25 minutes in the contest, scoring nine points and taking down six boards, while adding one steal and one block. While the entire Celtics team shot a horrid 34.7% from the field and 21.6% on 3-pointers, GWill's only misses came at the free throw line. He was 3-of-3 from the field, 1-of-1 from beyond the arc, but only 2-of-5 on free throws. Waters was 50% from the field, hitting 3-of-6 shots. Grant and Tremont tied Daniel Theis for team-high plus/minus of +1.



After missing his first 25 3-point attempts, Williams has hit 3-of-8 on treys (37.5%) in the last five games. Grant hasn't put up astounding numbers in any category, but he is damn versatile, contributing in many ways - much like Marcus Smart - who refers to GWill as "Mini Me". Grant is extremely savvy for a rookie and seems to know what do do out there on the court. Be assured that Danny Ainge already sees the 22nd overall pick in the draft as a keeper. The 21-year-old center/forward may never be a star in the League, but he belongs here.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

  Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson.
