The Celtics should lose to Denver tonight.....but if they don't.......

The Celts loaded up on adrenaline Wednesday night for their game with the Clippers. The whole NBA knows that the Clips and the Lakers are the favorites to win it all. The Celts have been building confidence since they beat Toronto and Milwaukee and just about everyone else (except a lucky Sacramento team) in their way since that opening night loss vs Philly. On Wednesday night the Celtics came to prove that they belong in the upper echelon of the league.

But now tonight we have a different situation. Denver is another "upper echelon" top of team. But they aren't seen as legit title contenders. Not really. But Denver is 10-3 and they were the #2 seed in the West last year. They are a team on the rise, just like the Celtics, and Denver wants to beat upper echelon teams when they step onto their home court. Denver is coming to play tonight.

And that's why the Celts should be in trouble. From an energy standpoint, this is a game where the Celtics will likely be a little bit less than normal. That's a heckuva emotionally draining loss that they went through the other night. To be able to pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and then beat the Nuggets tonight would be, dare I say it, championship caliber material. And of course I dare say it it, because I have said it multiple times already in this blog. The Boston Celtics are your 2019-2020 NBA champions. But I'm just not sure about how we will play tonight.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . Wemby versus Kareem as rookies

We already know that the Spurs Victor Wembanyama is going to be an NBA phenomenon, but will he surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar by the end of his career. It is highly likely. I did a "per-36-minutes" comparison between the two stars, mainly because Kareem logged 43.1 MPG in his rookie campaign - while Wemby has been held to only 29.4 MPG. Kareem: 24.1 PPG - 12.1 RPG - 3.4 APG - .518 FG - .653 FT Wemby: 25.9 PPG - 12.9 RPG - 4.5 APG - .463 FG - .796 FT No blocks, steals or 3-pointers were looked at since they were not tracked in Jabbar's first year in the NBA.
