The Maine Red Claws opened their season with a 148-125 romp over the Delaware Blue Coats. Romeo Langford came through with 27 points, five rebounds, and six blocks, while hitting 10-of-15 on field goals. Two-way player Tremont Waters had a team-high 28 points, in addition to four rebounds and three assists. Waters shot 9-of-11 from the field and 7-of-11 from 3-point-land. Center Tacko Fall came away with a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.
After a string of injuries, Langford will be spending some time in the G League to get some playing time under his belt, but the hand injury to Gordon Hayward last night might bring Romeo back to Boston more frequently than expected. But the Celtics rookies are off to a great start in Maine, as are the Celtics. Stay with Celtics Sentinel for G League action stories.
