Rob Williams gets 22 minutes vs. Spurs and excels. Let the Bill Russell comparisons begin.

I recently proposed that center Rob Williams' minutes need to be boosted to the 18-20 MPG range. Well, that didn't take long to go into effect, with Rob on the court for 22 minutes last night in Boston's 135-115 victory over the Spurs.


Williams collected 11 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and 1-of-1 from the free throw line. He also managed to grab seven rebounds, garner two assists and block SIX shots. The injury to Gordon Hayward in the first half (fractured hand) may have contributed to Williams' increase in floor time, and it appears we will be seeing more of him in the coming weeks.



It is too early to determine what Rob Williams ceiling may be, but it is not our of the realm of possibility to see the 27th pick in the 2018 draft become a kingpin in the Celtics rotation. I predicted he could be a starter by mid-season, and he may beat that timeline.


CelticsCanada may not be rushing the accolades. Rob's shot-blocking is elite-level already, and as improbable as it seems, he should get better. Bill Russell possessed size, athleticism and basketball smarts to become one of the greatest NBA players in history. That may be too-lofty a goal for Williams to reach, but I am not totally ruling it out. Not yet.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

  Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's .
