Romeo Langford's debut and what else to expect tonight vs. Orlando

The Boston Celtics take on the Orlando Magic in exhibition play tonight, and we will get our first look at rookie Romeo Langford. He spent most of the 2018-19 season at Indiana playing with a torn ligament in his right thumb - quite an issue for a shooting guard who shoots right-handed. Langford sat out Summer League because of that injury, and the time has come to watch the youngster in action.

Though listed at 6'6" in college, Romeo stands 6'4" without shoes, but he has an-almost 6'11" wingspan. He is very athletic and is dangerous in transition. He appears lighter than 215 pounds, but I attribute that to his solid, muscular physique.

"He's (Langford) got good instincts" is part of what Brad Stevens had to say about the Celtics 14th pick in the 2019 NBA draft. It will all start tonight for the youngster.

Be on the lookout tonight for another lineup change. Center Rob Williams is out with a groin injury, but expect to possibly see Vincent Poirier starting at the center spot. Brad seems disposed to have Enes Kanter on the second unit and have the offense flow through him. It is early in the experiment, but Vincent may be the choice as starter because of his defensive capabilities.

I would love to see a second-unit of Marcus Smart and Carson Edwards inn the back court, at least for a short stint. The inside/outside scoring duo of Kanter and Edwards could be effective. Look for my recap of the game early tomorrow morning.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
