Rob Williams' defense, screens, rebounding and controlled blocks evident vs. Knicks

Celtics sophomore center, Rob Williams, is learning the NBA game. He has improved his defensive stance - battles for rebounds - and sets some hard screens for his teammates. And his passing skills have improved significantly. Williams' timing and elevation on his blocks may never match what Bill Russell could do, but Rob is learning how to block shots while keeping them in play. He still fouls too much, like most youngsters, and he needs more work on his foul shooting, but this kid can be the starting center by the latter part of this season.


Rob got the starting nod against the New York Knicks and came through. He was originally labeled by some as unmotivated, but you don't get to be a 2-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year being apathetic. He was on the floor versus New York for 21 minutes, and his versatile stat line (4P/7R/3A/2S/1B) showed only part of the story.


One more thing. Ron needs a new nickname. TIMELORD doesn't work anymore. It's early in the morning, so I don't have any immediate ideas. Any thoughts from our readers?

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

  Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street.
