In what comes as no surprise to Celtics fans, the team has waived Kaiser Gates, Yante Maten and Max Strus - thus opening the door to Javonte Green to take that final full-time roster spot. Gates and Maten are most-likely headed to the G-League Red Claws, while Strus may hook up with another NBA team or go overseas. Green appears destined for the Celtics bench.
What was merely rumor over the past couple of days has now become official. The final roster spot was up for grabs between Max and Javonte, and Boston went with Green's athleticism and defensive prowess over Strus' ability to hit the 3-ball. It appears the roster is set for the opening of the regular season.
