The Boston Celtics quartet of Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart played a vital role in Team USA's victory over the Czech Republic in World Cup competition. Jayson Tatum came alive in this one, finishing with 10 points, four rebounds and two assists. He was only 4-of-11 from the field but is now finding his range. Kemba Walker seemed unstoppable, racking up 13 points on 6-of-8 from the field and 2-of-5 on 3-pointers.
Jaylen Brown was rather quiet - but solid, finishing with two points, three rebounds and one steal. Dovovan Mitchell was high scorer for Team USA with 16 points.Marcus Smart was second in minutes-played (21) behind Mitchell. Marcus had a Smart-like stat line with four points, four rebounds and two assists.
So Team USA is now 1-0 in World Cup competition. They take on Turkey on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
