Jayson Tatum gets some summer work in at Rumph Classic in Philadelphia

Jayson Tatum was able to get some summer work in at the Annual Rumph Classic at La Salle University in Philadelphia. The Classic is held to bring awareness to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a potentially-fatal condition that took the lives of former Celtics Reggie Lewis, Pete Maravich and Fab Melo, in addition to Daniel E. Rumph II, for whom the event is named.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a condition in which a portion of the heart becomes thickened without an obvious cause. This results in the heart being less able to pump blood effectively. Symptoms vary from none to feeling tired, leg swelling, and shortness of breath. It may also result in chest pain or fainting.

Jayson looked like he had free rein to go to work against the competition. I am sure his presence at the Classic attracted a good crowd, and he looks well-prepared for the coming season.

Let me make it clear first of all that I am totally against making a threat of any kind that even hints at harming, or certainly killing, another human being. Marcus Smart was wrong in doing so in the Celtics loss to the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder , and he deserved the one-game suspension. But to be honest, part of me loved that it occurred. . This type of thing can happen when a player gets to a point "beyond frustration" and is having a bad game.
