Could Celtics rookie Carsen Edwards be the steal of the draft?

The Celtics Danny Ainge was busy as usual during the 2019 NBA draft as he maneuvered to grab Carsen Edwards in the second round. Ainge traded the 20th pick in the first round to Philadelphia in exchange for the 24th and 33rd picks. The latter pick was used to draft the 6-foot Purdue guard, and he could be the steal of the draft.



In a survey by NBA.Com, both Carsen Edwards and fellow-rookie, Grant Williams, tied for third place in the voting for Biggest Steal of the Draft. G-Will was taken by Boston with the 22nd pick in the first round.



Carsen stands at 6'0.25" and 200 pounds and has a 6'6" wingspan. In the NBA, he really projects as an undersized shooting guard, but with Boston he could end up as a back-up point guard. One thing is for sure - he is a shooter and scorer. In Summer League, he averaged 19.5 PPG, 1.4 APG and 3.8 RPG. He has NBA range on his shot, a great release and is able to effectively get separation from his defenders. Edwards absolutely thrives in transition, and the Isaiah Thomas comparisons are inevitable.

Prior to the 2019 draft, mocks had Carsen being taken anywhere from the 22rd pick in the first round to #38 in the second round. Trader Danny had to be thrilled when he was still available at #33. Ironically, The Big Lead's mock draft had Boston taking Edwards with the 22nd pick, where the Celtics chose Grant Williams. And now both rookies are in the conversation as possible steals from the 2019 NBA draft. Both players are expected to have reasonable roles in the upcoming season.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

  Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street.
