Celtics Daniel Theis continues strong play for Germany in World Cup exhibition win vs. Poland

Daniel Theis and Dennis Schroder excelled last night in Germany's 92-84 win over Poland in FIBA World Cup exhibition. Theis notched 17 points on 7-of-15 from the field, while adding four rebounds and three blocks. He and point guard, Schroder, have a lot of synergy out there on the floor as Dennis scored 33 points while handing out nine assists and grabbing five boards.

Daniel was definitely off on his 3-point shooting, taking four attempts beyond the arc and missing all of them. But his post game was solid, and he did well from mid-range. What may be most-notable for Boston fans is watching Theis thrive on the hardwood with a quality, pass-first point guard in Schroder. A number of Daniel's scores are coming off lob passes from Schroder.

The Celtics have such a point guard in newly-acquired Kemba Walker, who demands so much defensive attention on his drives. Walker's ability to stop on a dime to launch a jumper or let go a soft-and-high lob pass will benefit Daniel's game significantly. It can be easy for fans to bypass Theis in their optimistic thoughts on the upcoming season, but his play in World Cup competition may change that.

Also, according to EuroHoops.Net, Mortiz Wagner has been cut from Germany's entry in the World Cup. Wagner was the 25th player selected by the Lakers in the 2018 draft and he was subsequently traded to the Washington Wizards on July 6, 2019.

A sorrowful farewell to Kitty's Restaurant (North Reading, MA) as a family tradition

Time to say "Goodbye" to Kitty's Restaurant - my   family's destination and tradition for six generations and more than 80 years. My memories of Kitty's go back to the early-1950's . I would accompany my dad and grandfather on fishing trips to the Ipswich River in North Reading, Massachusetts - followed by a visit to the restaurant on Main Street. In later years, my wife, Linda, and I would eat there with our two kids, Marc and Lisa - and years later - with our two grand daughters - and still later - with our great grandson, Carson. Author and family at Kitty's approx. 10 years ago Kitty's never disappointed. The drinks were big and well-made . The food was terrific - as were the portions. The service was exceptional and we became well-acquainted with the waiters and waitresses. It all worked so very well for many decades. My grand daughter, Courtney , was particularly fond of the restaurant. She was born with cystic fibrosis , and during her fr...
